Riding The School Bus...
Ok so I broke down and let Owen ride the bus to school today. I know I know the bus is part of the experience but I was having a really hard time intrusting my first borns life to another woman on the freeway. Some might think it is crazy but if you are a mom you know the auwful thoughts that run through ones mind. If I could afford a shrink I would visit one sometimes daily I think but instead I blog about it to those who will listen. I went into Owen's room a little after 7 this morning and whispered in his little ear "Owen time..." before I could finish my sentence he shot his head in the air and said "did I miss the bus mom". With the most concerned look on his face. After I informed him that he still had 50 minutes to get ready he ran to the bathroom and flew down the stairs. I followed him to the kitchen where he was bouncing like a jumping bean and made him a shake and a bowl of cereal. He did good at first he started eating but he was littleraly bouncing in his chair. He looked at me so serious and informed me that he just thinks he should get dressed now incase the bus comes early today. So upstairs we went and after rushing through getting dressed and brushing his teeth he made it back to the breakfast table he looked at me and said, "mom I just can't see the bus pull up I should drink my shake on the couch" Soo off to the couch we went where his eyes were peeled out front the entire time. He then looked at me and said, "mom Ijust can't hear the bus from in here I think we should just wait outside". So outside we went and waited by the time the bus got here you would have thought it was a carnival ride pulling up driven by a clown throwing candy he jumped and screamed so loud I am sure all the neighbors thought something traumatic was going on at our house. He took off and waived at mom goodbye and I then went into the house and cried into my morning cup of Joe. It is amazing how fast kids really do grow and we have to just accept it as parents.

Days off....
My job requires me to spend a lot of days in a row suffering night after night after night. So when I finally get a day off I have "big plans" all the laundry is going to get done, all the floors will be scrubbed, bathrooms cleaned, sheets washed and of course the kids will be fed and kept entertained throughout this whole day. Not to mention my husband fed when he gets off work and he too entertained throughout the evening. Well why is it that everyday I have off I get slightly distracted with a new project? Last night I was reading my ADHD book learning how to keep my hyperactive son content when I realized every symptom I am studying right now I suffer from. That besides the point I decided today was going to be the day that I was going to take the books advice and turn a room in the house into a quite spot, a spot to unwind so I entertained Jason by putting him to work tonight. I had that poor man up and down the stairs bringing toy after toy after toy after over stimulating toy downstairs (to the boys new toy room). I then decided to touch up all the walls in the old toy room, why you ask? I really don't know. I then moved my beautiful lounge couch from the garage to the "new room" went through all the books and reorganized them and of course scrubbed the carpets cleaned the boys chalk board and chair covers, dusted the elliptical and even steam cleaned the blinds and curtains. Now one would think new room... brand new room I have touched every inch of it I even had Jason hanging art on the walls. It looked amazing though nothing on my to do list was accomplished I felt great about my day off. UNTIL... I sit down to catch an episode of Dexter or three and I smell the awful smell of a warming outdoors and puppy pee on my carpet that is barely 9 months old (the carpet that is). A sudden ruin to my much accomplished day off. Anyone at all that can help me get rid of this deathly scent? I do not have the funds to replace my carpet again! What a horrible ending to a great day!

DEXTER
So anyone who watches Dexter out there? Well I am officially hooked. Everynight after the kids go to bed I sit and watch it on Netflix. Now there is something to say about Netflix it is as bad as LMN... Immediately after one edisode it shoots you to the option watch the next episode? Well of course you cant deny that. Just like LMN there is no comercial break before the next movie is featured and immediately you are sucked into another cheesy movie.
Last night however I learned my lesson. No more Dexter before bed! Jason forbids it. It was finally 3 o'clock in the morning when I was able to rip myself away from the TV and go to bed. As I am washing my face and brushing my teeth I hear the neightbors dog going ape s*** outside. My immidiate reaction was go into detective mode. I run throughout the entire upstairs and turn off all the lights upon getting into the guest room I sneak to the window and ever so lightly open the curtain to take a peak. Now either my eyes were going cross and starting to see things or I was absolutely lost at that point but I swear there is someone in my jeep that is parked in the driveway. I saw movement, I swear! I then start yelling in a whisper which in itself makes absolutely no sense to Jason in the other room. Keep in mind Jason has to get up for work in an hour and a half and is in a deep sleep. He finally wakes up to my cries and I tell him to grab the phone and get into the guest room fast! When he gets in there I inform him about the person I saw moving in the jeep and he was a good sport at first he sat there very quietly looking and looking and looking. Then he whispers to me, "did Dexter abduct someone in their car tonight?" Now he had but that was not the point so I denied that accusation up and down. I heard the dogs barking and saw the person moving I then said to him "WELL... aren't you gonna call the cops?" He laughed and headed back to bed and told me to do the same. I of course could not fall asleep with someone in my car (which all there really is to steal in the car is car seats). So I then woke the dog up and brought her downstairs to go out thinking if she heard something she would bark like crazy and I then would know I wasn't nuts. Well poor thing just sat at the door and cried til I let her back in. Now Jason might be right that I shouldn't watch those movies before bed anymore but answer me this why was my tire completely flat when I went to go to the post office today? Who's crazy now Jason?

Boys will be BOYS!
So this morning my two children and the dog managed to sneak their Flinstone Gummie Vitamins to Owen's room. As I was putting clothes away in Ethan's room across the hall I hear "shhhh.." When I peak my head into Owen's room they are all hiding under the covers... RED FLAG... Gee I wonder could they be doing something they aren't suppose to be? So when I go to check they had managed to eat half a bottle!! When I demanded an explanation Owen quickly informed me that he only ate 2 like he is suppose to and when I looked at Ethan he smiled and said "yummy momma"
I then called poison controll and they reassured me they will be fine just maybe a tummy ache and I thought good maybe then they won't do it again! I know evil but they aren't always angels either!
Then I called the company that puts these vitamins on the shelf and gave them a piece of my mind on child safety caps and that a four year old can figure it out and the mans response was, "you have one smart four year old". My response to that was "fix it maybe you should look into making a better cap!" About an hour after my phone call I got a call from some manager at the company and they are sending me a 6 mo. supply of vitamins and a envelope to mail back that bottle so they can look into putting a safer cap on them. I thought cool thanks Owen for being your smart little self. Little do they know he is a problem solving kind of child and he would have sat there all day trying to figure that cap out til he could accomplish it. Sooo bottom line both children survived and I got a six month supply of the vitamins all is good in the end!

Sundays...
Today started out as any Sunday... Total motivation we talked of finishing the trim in the living room then maybe move to all the touch up paint we need to finish in the upstairs bathroom oh and of course the trip to sears. Well this Sunday is now quickly coming to an end and we have accomplished watching a movie and I did make it to sears but it was on the couch online. Jason and I both managed to do our workouts for the day but had we not indulged in pizza for dinner I don't think we would have felt guilty enough to even do that. Just sat down for my nightly glass of wine before bed and I can't help but think another Sunday gone and though I accomplished not a thing I couldn't feel any better.
